Since being appointed President of Puerto Rico Farm Credit in February 2011, Mr. Fernández has spearheaded a thorough transformation of the financial cooperative on behalf of its member-farmers, rural homeowners and agribusinesses in Puerto Rico. An innovative leader, his career of 17 years in commercial banking is marked by a variety of successive leadership roles and professional achievements, affording him valuable experience in virtually every area of the banking business. He has a BA in economics from The University of Michigan and an MBA majoring in finance and strategy and management from The Kellogg School of Management. He is a member of the FCS's Presidents Planning Committee since May 2012. Moreover, he is the Secretary of the AgFirst Presidents Planning Committee and leads the Sales and Marketing Subcommittee.
